Media Ethics/Media Law
I found the article about the first amendment. It is not really a case but this article is talking about a case that happened to a Twitter user back in 2010. This article was written by Brian Solis. His article about this one twitter account user talks about how he tweeted about an airport closing and mentioned that "I am blowing the airport skyhigh!". This got him convicted and eventually lost the appeal. Here is the article here.

Propaganda in advertising
I found a video about the the product, Proactiv. This particular video shows singing sensation, Katy Perry where she explains how she overcame acne by using this product. The two techniques used in this advertisement one is "Beautiful people". This a type that uses happy and attractive people. This technique makes people think that they should buy the product because it will make them look like the famous person in the ad. The other is Repetition. This is a jingle or word that is repeated in the duration of the advertisement to get stuck on the viewer's head. The repetition for this particular one is "Proactiv" which is the product itself. They also used the word in a sentence.

internet
I have used the internet to buy things and also to play games as well. I usually go to sites like Amazon.com to buy things and sometimes ebay or craigslist. I go to car forums a lot as well to check out the tuning community and buy parts. clubeg6.com is a good one for aspiring civic owners out there as well as the site, for BMWs where I go a lot to other M3 owners. As far as someone having obesessions about using the internet, I have a friend that plays a game called World of Warcraft. This game got so addicting to him that it became unhealthy for him to play it. He barely eats, goes outside, and does not interact with friends and family as much as he used to. It is a growing concern that is scary for him and his family.

Movies
My favorite movie of all time is Avatar. Probably one of the best movies ever made. This movie took billions of dollars to make using state of the art technology to produce the movie we all enjoyed in theaters and now at home.I watched Avatar on Blu-ray, theaters, and on 3-D. As for 2010-11, the movie that I like the most is Cop Out. It stars Tracy Morgan and Bruce Willis on this comedy about two cops. I only watched it on the theaters.

Magazine
Background:
I came up with this idea during work (I work for a cellphone company) and I noticed how many phones have the capability of doing so much like watching T.V. Or social networking like Facebook.
Title: Apps! Apps! Apps!- Source for the latest apps and development
Concept:
A monthly magazine that highlights the hottest mobile phone applications for the Android and Apple IOS platform. Not only will it cover applications, it will also cover app development for those that make apps for these platforms. This is a good exposure for up and coming app developers as well as companies to showcase their work and have it reviewed by the magazine. The magazine also gives readers tips to which apps are worth buying and which ones to stay away from. Not only that, it will highlight worthy apps that are overshadowed by other popular apps to give them light and possibly the recognition they deserve.
Readers:
The demographics will be males who are into app development or an inspiring app maker trying to make a mark in this type of field. The age groups would be around 20 to 45 years old with interests in mobile phones, mobile applications, and the wireless industry.
Competition:
Phonemag.com (online magazines)
Pcmag.com (online magazines)
WirelessWeek: The Magazine (can be viewed online or subscribed to)
Advertisers:
Stores that have cell phone kiosks like Target (Target Mobile), Best Buy (Best Buy Mobile), Costco, and Wal-Mart.
Articles:
I would probably have articles that are titled like these:
Android app developer's tips and tricks
Which apps are worth your money
Android or IOS? Which platform is for you?
Top 10 apps that are under the radar
Apple app developer's tips and tricks
The Cover:
This cover is a parody of the video game classic PAC-Man, PAC-Man is being played by the logo of the Android platform trying to eat the ghosts which are small Apples (AKA the Apple company). This is a perfect picture of how far the new comer Android, is rising in popularity and catching to Apple.

Books
Harry Potter series: This series was the last time I ever really tried reading a book since middle school. It did not change my life or impact it. However, it made me think about what your imagination can do to a person when you read a book. This series definitely gives you that type of imagination. Oh and by the way, the books are better than the movies. Just read it.
Hamlet: I never thought this book would impact me a lot. This book believe it or not made me realize how funny Shakespeare can be.Although the language is a bit hard to understand, you can see that Shakespeare is a clever writer and we will not have another one like him in a life time. I learned this through one of the quarters that made me read the ENTIRE book as an analysis for a final. I appreciate literature more because of reading this book/play numerous times.
Everything Bad is Good for You: How Today's Popular Culture is Actually Making Us Smarter: Another book that I thought will never impact my life. This book talks about how popular culture, like TV shows and video games have helped us get smarter not dumber. I came across this book by using it as a reference to another paper I wrote a few quarters back as well. Although I don't agree to a lot of what the author says, it is still nice to think that there is someone out there that is trying to protect this type of media
